Great article, Jared. It’s very accurate, but also sad… My personal opinion is that the UX field became oversaturated and the word “design” makes things even more confusing as many people think of it as a creative field rather than analytical, strategic, and research-driven. In the recent years “UX” has become more of a buzzword promising six-figure income by bootcamps, while the role of UX professionals has become greatly misinterpreted by both companies and aspiring/junior level professionals, which is what’s haunting those who know what they’re doing. Lack of proper education is a separate thing, and unfortunately, I agree that it may take a very long time to change, if it ever changes.
